UArizona Hispanic Serving Institution Initiatives has launched Project LISTO to introduce Hispanic students to STEM majors and opportunities and provide a framework for other Hispanic-Serving Institutions to do the same.

Since opening in spring 2022, the UArizona Health Sciences SensorLab has supported research projects with over 250 unique sensors.

The University of Arizona has welcomed its largest and most diverse class in university history, which also includes a record number of students from Arizona. About 9,300 first-year students, representing all 50 U.S. states and 45 countries, started classes this week.

The Data Science Fellowship equips health care researchers and professionals to leverage data to improve medical knowledge and care.

UArizona is included on Money's list of The Best Colleges in America 2023. The university is also ranked No. 54 in the United States and No. 27 among public U.S. institutions in the 2024 QS World University Rankings.

“Arizona is the obvious place to solve this problem of keeping agriculture productive in a drying climate,” says Paul Brierley, chair of the Presidential Advisory Commission on the Future of Agriculture and Food Production in a Drying Climate. “Our commission will focus UArizona’s vast expertise on innovations that will ultimately help people and communities thrive.”

The grant, from the U.S. Department of Education's Developing Hispanic-Serving Institutions Program, will fund activities focused on the U.S.-Mexico borderlands, including a student internship program, first-year writing curriculum and faculty fellowships.
